Satellite Dishes

If you are an AT&T/ BellSouth Americast Cable TV customer, you should have received a letter in the mail last week indicating that they will no longer be offering cable TV service in our area.  Because this change will be effective June 23, 2008, we expect that there will be many more satellite dishes installed in Turtle Creek in the coming months.  We therefore wanted to reiterate the satellite dish guidelines currently in place in the community:

Satellite dishes must be less than 3 feet in diameter and placed on the back half of the house, unless reception is not posasible there.  If dish must be placed at the front half of the house, it should be unobtrusively located.  Dishes in compliance with federal law and regulations are permitted.

We appreciate the cooperation of all homeowners in ensuring that satellite dishes are placed in the least visible location possible while still ensuring adequate reception.  We prefer that no satellite dishes be place in the front yard and that any dishes placed there be covered with a fake stone or otherwise hidden from the street.  Homeowners who have concerns about the placement of their dish and wanting to make sure that the placement will be acceptable to the homeowners' association can complete an ACC request form and submit it to the management company for ACC review prior to the dish being installed.  The homeowners' association can require that homeowners move or hide a satellite dish that is installed contrary to these guidelines, but we would prefer that homeowners take the guidelines into consideration up front.

Thank you

Quality Waste Customers

February 21, 2008

Dear Eve and Residents of Turtle Creek,

I am writing to clarify any miscommunication regarding Quality Waste Disposal and its ability to service in Gwinnett County.  With Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful announcing they were going private as of January 2009, this meant Quality Waste as well as other haulers, were going to lose their customers in incorporated Gwinnett County.  Our company at that time were not going to renew the permits or the bonds until we were sure what the situation was.  Quality Waste will continue to service in Gwinnett County until January 2009, which is when the private hauling is supposed to take place.  Residents do not have to cancel service.  We have paid our bonds and received our permits to stay in the County.  Switching services now is only going to put you in the hands of another hauler unsure of their fate in Gwinnett as well.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at anytime.  I appreciate everyone’s time and patience with this matter.

 Warm Regards,

 Trish Gauthier

YARD WASTE:  A MESSAGE FROM OUR WASTE DISPOSAL PROVIDERS

The disposal service companies working in our subdivision want us to remind residents that yard waste must be disposed of in the large paper yard waste bags instead of in the large plastic garbage bags if residents want the waste to be picked up.  Improperly bagged yard waste will not be picked up.  The paper bags are available at any Costco, Home Depot, Lowe’s and many other stores.

Attention Residents

The board has received numerous complaints regarding small motorcycles & scooters racing through the subdivision.  Gwinnett County law states that only licensed, street legal vehicles are to be driven on the road by licensed drivers.  Gwinnett County police advises residents to call the non-emergency number if the vehicles continue to race through our neighborhood.

Please remember that everyone needs to obey the speed limit and stop signs throughout the subdivision.  We have had several accidents within the subdivision as a result of individual’s failure to stop at stop signs and/or to maintain the 25 mph speed limit.
